The Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) has strongly recommended urgent action to bring in gangmaster licensing for cockle picking, following the sentencing of Chinese gangmaster Lin Liang Ren. As Workplace Law reported yesterday Liang Ren has been sentenced to 14 years in prison after being found guilty of causing the deaths of 21 Chinese cocklepickers at Morecambe Bay.
