A whistle-blower, who was sacked after leaking a report to the press, has won his employment tribunal for unfair dismissal.
The employment tribunal ruled against the National Trust after it sacked warden Peter Collins for secretly handing over a report to a local newspaper about dangerous chemicals at a former landfill site.
The Shields Gazette published the report and then launched a campaign for its findings to be made public.
