The Government’s campaign to reform the incapacity benefit system, launched this week, could have positive effects for employers on levels of absenteeism. Although the focus of the current initiative is to encourage those on benefits to get back into work, a reform of the process by which doctors sign sick notes could directly help businesses by reducing the number of sick days which employees are taking.
