HSE and Environment Agency to investigate Buncefield

The HSE and the Environment Agency (EA) will both be involved in the investigation into this week’s explosion at the Buncefield oil storage depot. The two agencies form the joint Competent Authority (CA) responsible for regulation under the Control of Major Accident Hazards Regulations 1999 (COMAH).

Now that the fire is out, Hertfordshire Constabulary has started its phased withdrawal from operations at the site, but the police will continue to work with the HSE and EA to help in the ... (90 more words)
