A 6ft 10in man is taking a case against the National Air Traffic Services (Nats) to an employment tribunal after he was refused a job as an air traffic controller because he was considered too tall to sit at his desk. Ben Sargeaunt-Thomson, 23, alleges indirect sexual discrimination, arguing that only a man could reach 6ft 10ins.
Mr Sargeaunt-Thomson had been accepted for the post but was failed on health and safety grounds at his medical.
