The Information Commissioner’s Office has established a new division to target UK businesses that fail to adhere to the Data Protection Act 1998.
The new Regulatory Action Division’s powers include criminal prosecution, non-criminal enforcement and audit to ensure that personal information used by businesses is properly protected.
