US proposals to end personal injury claims in relation to asbestos have been further delayed by political and procedural wrangling.
Judiciary Committee Chairman Arlen Specter hoped to complete the bill and send it to the Senate at the end of April, but work has now been delayed until 12 May 2005. Specter reportedly remains upbeat about working through 82 amendments to the bill and putting it forward to the Senate in May.
