The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) today warned of the dangers of roof work, which accounts for more construction deaths and serious injuries than any other activity.
The warning came after two companies were fined a total of £133,000 plus over £38,000 costs at Liverpool Crown Court after a fatal accident at the premises of Arnold Clark Automobiles in Fox Street, Liverpool, on 26 July 2003 when Joseph McEvoy stepped on a fragile panel in a row of skylights and fell 20 feet, sustaining f...
