Workplace issues have come into focus in the pre-election campaign this weekend.
The Conservative party outlined plans to allow female employees to extend maternity leave from six to nine months, in return for a lower total maternity payment. Payments would be 90% of average earnings for the first six weeks, followed by a choice between 33 weeks at £102.80 per week and 20 weeks at £169.62.
