The Carlisle News and Star reports that more than 1,000 female hospital workers voted unanimously at a mass meeting on 24 March to accept the world’s largest-ever multi-million-pound equal pay deal. This follows the settlement agreed with North Cumbria Acute NHS Trust in an equal pay case brought by Unison, as previously reported on by Workplace Law. Unison is standing by its claim that the total cost of compensating the women will be around £300 million.
