Following both the substantive consultation exercise, and the shorter consultation on retaining the 2m rule, the HSC announced on 17 March 2005 that the new Work at Height Regulations 2005 are to be laid before Parliament.
They are due to come into force on 6 April 2005.
The most important issue to note regarding the intended regulations is that the 2m rule has not been retained and they will apply to all work at height where there is a risk of a fall liable to cause personal injury.
