The Lancashire Evening Post reported this week that a worker was killed while handling explosive material at the BAE Land Systems site in Chorley, formerly part of the Royal Ordnance munitions works, which shut down in the mid 1990s. An explosives expert from the Health and Safety Executive is heading an official investigation into the blast.
