Details of the proposed Commission for Equality and Human Rights (CEHR) are being set out today in the Government's Equality Bill. The CEHR will operate from October 2007, and will have major implications for employers.
The Equality Bill includes new powers to make it unlawful to discriminate on the grounds of religion or belief in the provision of goods, facilities, services, premises, education and the exercise of public functions (subject to certain exemptions).
