The seemingly endless history of fire safety regulation in the UK seems to be entering its final chapter with the introduction of new amendments next month. The Fire Precautions (Workplace) (Amendment) Regulations which were laid before parliament on 7 July this year finally come into force on 1 December 1999.It was earlier reported that new fire regulations were to be introduced after a long period of expectation, going back to the 'six pack' of health and safety regulations from 1992.
