Rhodia Eco Services Limited has been fined £100,000 following a chlorine leak at the company’s site in Chesterfield in 2003. A joint investigation by the HSE and the Environment Agency showed the highly poisonous release was caused by Rhodia’s deficient procedures and a failure to learn the lessons of an earlier, smaller, leak.
