Despite the introduction of security licensing under the Private Security Industry Act, the British Security Industry Association (BSIA) has advised security firms to continue to use British Standard 7858 for vetting purposes.
BSIA chief executive, David Dickinson, comments:
"We feel it is appropriate to issue advice to members about our position with regard to vetting requirements, since there appears to be some confusion about what may happen 'post licensing'.
