A Peterborough firm which installed a fish-frying range in a manner which exposed chip shop staff to danger from fire, explosion and carbon monoxide poisoning has been fined £10,000 and ordered to pay £1,100 in costs. Caterquip (UK) Ltd pleaded guilty to breaching section 3 of the Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974 (HSWA).
The charges related to a fish frying range the company installed at The Right Plaice chip shop in Ipswich on 16 February 2004.
