£35,000 compensation - landmark judgment under gay discrimination laws

A former office manager at waste-management company Cleanaway has been awarded £35,000 compensation after he was harassed at work about his sexuality - the judgment is believed to be the first such award under the Employment Equality (Sexual Orientation) Regulations 2003, which came into effect in December 2003.
