John Roberts Ltd has been fined £10,000 after a dumper truck overturned, seriously injuring driver Elfed Williams, reports the North Wales Daily Post.
The accident happened 18 months ago when the 36-tonne truck plunged over a safety mound. The HSE told the court that the brakes had deteriorated over a period of time - indeed two of the three brakes were not working.
The plant hire firm admitted that it had not maintained the brakes properly, but raised questions about the driver's version ... (77 more words)
