From 10 January 2005 the Security Industry Authority (SIA) will start to accept requests for licence application packs for the latest sectors to be licensed under the new national licensing scheme for the private security industry in England and Wales.
From 20 March 2006 it will be a legal requirement for those working in the four new licensable security sectors to hold an SIA licence.
The four new licensable security sectors are as follows:
Security guarding
