The Council of the European Union has reached political agreement on a draft EU Directive on minimum health and safety requirements regarding the exposure of workers to the risks arising from optical radiation.
Employers who work with lasers and electrical welding equipment, those in the steel and glass industries, and those working in artificial tanning businesses are likely to be most affected.
