Appeal tribunal upholds largest ever disability discrimination award

The Employment Appeals Tribunal has upheld the £400,000 compensation which was awarded to Jacqui Beart a year ago, which is thought to be the largest ever award under the Disability Discrimination Act.

Jacqui Beart was demoted by the Prison Service after requesting to have her hours changed: she was demoted and went on sick leave with depression, never to return to work. The compensation payment was for personal injury, damages to feelings, aggravated damages, unfair dismissal, and lost fut... (4 more words)
