More than 95% of voters in an online USDAW poll called for an end to the absence of a maximum workplace temperature.
USDAW is calling for the Government to set an upper limit, as the union fears the health and safety of workers is currently being put at unecessary risk.
Health and safety code of practice includes a minimum temperature (16 degrees C or 13 degrees C for strenuous work), but there is no indication towards a maximum temperature in the workpace.
