The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has published a summary of responses to its earlier consultation on removing the requirement for Employers’ Liability Compulsory Insurance (ELCI) from incorporated owners/sole employees. The majority of respondents (78%) were in favour of the proposal.
Such insurance is currently compulsory, but there has been widespread dissatisfaction following major rises in the cost of insurance premiums over recent years.
