Draft Environmental Information Regulations Published

The draft Environmental Information Regulations 2004 have now been published on the HMSO website, and will come into force on 1 January 2005. The new regulations implement the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and the Environmental Information Directive, and will ensure the UK fulfils its obligations under the UN Aarhus Convention.

The regulations set out the procedures for members of the public to request information from local authorities.
