The HSE has issued a warning to the manufacturing industry, following the recent deaths of three employees in a slurry tank, that entering confined spaces is extremely dangerous, particularly waste and recycling companies.
The three employees, working on a farm near Thetford, were asphyxiated in the tank after being overcome by carbon dioxide. A fourth worker, who also entered the tank, was fortunate to escape with his life.
