Following the announcement that, under the Disability Discrimination Bill, which comes into force in 2006, protection will extend to bring a larger number of people with mental illnesses within the definition of 'disability', lawyers have expressed concerns that employees with conditions such as stress may be able to qualify as disabled. The Times reports today that employers could face costly claims as a result.
