Engineering services company AMEC is suing a contractor for damages in relation to asbestos surveys carried out on a site re-development in 1997, according to a report by Construction News.
AMEC claims that safety consultants OHS underestimated the amount of asbestos on the site, and so was in breach of contract and negligent. OHS lists asbestos surveying and management as one of its core activities, and claims to be "one of the original pioneers of asbestos management".
