The Facts
At a remedies hearing an employment tribunal gave an oral decision awarding the applicant compensation for discrimination. Extended written reasons were sent to the parties on 5 November 2002. The employers' solicitors received a copy three days later but a copy did not reach the applicant. The applicant's solicitors made inquiries to the employment tribunal who sent a further copy which was received by the solicitors on 3 January 2003.
