A joint publication between the HSE and the
Disability Rights Commission highlights research carried out on their behalf
to investigate the extent to which health and safety requirements are being
used as a excuse by employers for not employing, or continuing to employ,
disabled people or those with an injury or medical condition (as reported on the Workplacelaw Network, 5 November 2003).
