The Equal Pay Act 1970 (Amendment) Regulations 2003 have just been published, and come into force on Saturday, 19 July 2003.
Their main effect is to:
- remove current provisions in the Equal Pay Act 1970 s.2(5) under which compensation for breach is limited to two years back pay (so as to comply with the judgment of the European Court of Justice in Preston -v- Wolverhampton Health Authority); and,
- extend the six-month period after employment has ended during which a claim must be broug... (15 more words)
