£100K Fine After Worker Crushed by Concrete Stairs

A Staffordshire company has been fined £100,000 following the death of a worker who was crushed when a four-ton set of concrete stairs toppled on him.

Lichfield-based Bison Concrete Products has three previous convictions in other parts of the UK - including two following fatalities - for which it was fined a total of £79,000 between May 1997 and December 2001, Stafford Crown Court was told.
