Contractors working in the UK were dealt another defeat in the latest battle against the controversial IR35 tax on Friday. IT consultant Gordon Stutchbury lost his High Court claim against a ruling by the Inland Revenue that treated him as a 'disguised employee' of one of his clients, albeit he was acknowledged to be "in business on his own account".
