The landscape on discrimination will be changing in December 2003. Attempts have been made in the past to use the sex discrimination rules to include sexual orientation. Such imaginative pleading will not be necessary in future. As a result of the implementation of the Equal Treatment Directive, discrimination on the grounds of sexual orientation will become illegal from 2nd December 2003.
