New guidance on drainage and waste systems

The DETR has published a draft Approved Document to help workplace managers meet the drainage and waste requirements of the Building Regulations.The new guidance includes information on urban rainwater drainage systems, outlets for septic tanks, and systems to cope with solid waste. The proposals include the use of pumping stations and anti-flooding valves to protect low lying properties from flooding, and the use of grease separators in the drainage systems of buildings used for hot food pre...
