There have been a number of developments of interest over the recent weeks.
In order to facilitate women having the necessary data to actually bring a claim for Equal Pay, the Employment Act 2002 provided for a questionnaire that could be served on the employer. This new regime is expected to come into force in April 2003. Although an employer will not have to answer the questionnaire, any Employment Tribunal would be entitled to draw an inference from the refusal to do so.
