It would become far more difficult for women to claim they were being paid
less than a man doing a job worth the same as theirs, under proposed changes
to equal pay law, the Equal Opportunities Commission (EOC) said in its
response to the government's consultation document Equality and Diversity: The Way Ahead.
Under the new proposal, if a job evaluation had already been carried out and
rated the jobs differently, it would be the responsibility of a woman who
