Over the past couple of years, the Government has been consulting on reforms to the Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment) Regulations 1981 (better known as TUPE). One of the issues is whether occupational pensions, which currently do not transfer, should be protected.
The Government has not yet issued a full response to the consultation, but some points were made in the high profile Green Paper on pensions that the Government published before Christmas.
