A former paperboy has settled out of court for more than £1,000, after he was threatened with dismissal when he couldn't find anyone to cover for his holiday.
The boy's case for constructive disimissal was taken up by the Children’s Legal Centre, which wanted to use the case to argue that children should be protected under the Working Time Regulations (WTR). At present, workers under 18-years old are not protected under the WTR.
