The debate over proposed new rights for temporary workers has moved on a stage, with MEPs approving an amendment that would mean agency workers would only be guaranteed equal rights with permanent workers after six weeks in a workplace.
This follows a scare for UK employers in October, when it looked like this six-week qualifying period would be removed altogether. Business groups has been campaigning that the period should be much longer, even up to one year.
