The appointment of Richard Thomas in December as the new Information Commissioner (replacing Elizabeth France) will delay the publication of the final two parts of the Data Protection Act Code of Practice relating to employment practices.
The final two parts of the Code will cover workplace monitoring, and managing medical records.
The Commission still hopes to publish the monitoring Code before Christmas, but does not expect to release its guidance on medical records until Spring 2003.
