Staff at six north Staffordshire companies are not covered for accidents at work because insurance premiums have spiralled by as much as 1,200 per cent, according to the Staffordshire Sentinel.

Trade and industry secretary Patricia Hewitt was called upon to intervene on the issue during a North Staffordshire Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NSCCI) business summit.
