New research funded by the HSE has revealed that almost 4.9m workers are exposed to hand-arm vibration over a week long period. Hand-arm vibration syndrome, featured in the September edition of Facilities Management Legal Update, can affect anyone who works with machinery. The research was jointly carried out by Professor Mike Griffin at the Institute of Sound and Vibration Research and Dr Keith Palmer at the Medical Research Council and concentrated on ascertaining the scale of the problem. ...
