A new study in the journal "Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences" questions whether the maximum exposure limits to radiation in the workplace are too high, the BBC reports.
The research examined the effect that different radiation levels have on the chances of cancer forming. The findings suggest that smaller amounts of radiation than previously thought could cause cancer, and that the maximum radiation limit in the workplace is 50 times the 'normal' level.
