HR Departments Prepare for Data Protection Spot Checks

The Information Commission is doubling its staff to 300, and is planning compliance checks on HR departments in early 2003, according to Personnel Today. At the moment, the Commission only investigates employers after it receives a complaint, but this would change under a tougher enforcement regime.
