Trevor Luxton of London Bank Credit Lyonnais has been suspended on full pay while his employer investigates alleged abuse of the company's e-mail policy.
The investigation follows an e-mail which Mr Luxton is thought to have sent about a recent sexual experience. The e-mail then spread via the internet, presumably bearing the name of his employer.
Because of the high-profile status of the company involved, the case will no doubt attract much interest.
