Ananova has reported a case from the European Court of Human Rights in which four UK waiters claimed that their employer was wrong to include non-cash tips as part of their basic wage.
The owners of the Paradiso e Inferno restaurant in The Strand were including the tips in their weekly wage as additional pay. According to the report, the waiters sued for breach of contract when they found that the tips were actually going towards their basic wage.
