Company and MD Prosecuted after Fatal Building Collapse

The HSE is prosecuting a property development company and its managing director following the collapse of a building in Hull that resulted in the deaths of three workers.

Shaughan Walsh, 43, David Jowett, 44, and Anthony Laughton, 38 were all crushed to death in the April 2000 collapse. The HSE is prosecuting Murli Motiram Thadani, managing director of Marketing Exchange for Africa, under the little used section 37 (1) of the Health and Safety at Work Act.
