New statistics gathered on behalf of the Fawcett Society and Unison reveal wide regional variations in the size of the gender pay gap throughout the UK.
On average in Great Britain women earn 21.2% less than men but the highest gender pay gap is found in West Somerset, where female workers earn 52.7% less than their male colleagues.
