The results of a survey (by Personnel Today and Websense) into how employers deal with internet misconduct have been published, revealing that by far the most common cause of internet-related dismissal is viewing online pornography. The key findings are as follows:
- 72% of companies have dealt with some form of internet misuse.
- 1 in 4 of companies have dismissed employees for internet misconduct.
- 69% of dismissals are associated with pornography.
